Wisdom Wednesday

I think it’s time we dispel the untruth that “wisdom comes with age”. False. I know that a lot of folks seem to think that wisdom comes at certain age, and that it just falls into your lap. NEWSFLASH: It doesn’t! Many people that I know have even pinpointed the arrival of wisdom to be at the age of 30. Nope. Not so. I’m no Confucius or Socrates but I do know that wisdom isn’t freely given. Wisdom works interchangeably with knowledge and understanding. Without both of these you haven’t any wisdom. Contrary to popular belief, there’s no ‘Wisdom Fairy’ who comes in the wee hours of of the night, waves a magic wand, and “Voila”, you’re suddenly overflowing with wisdom. If that were the case, mine eyes would not have to endure the folly frequently seen in the news feed of my Facebook account. You are aware that the opposite of wisdom is folly right? Don’t believe me? Pick up a bible and turn to the book of Proverbs…any chapter will do. It’s there. The opposite of someone who is wise is merely called simple. (Proverbs again) Simpletons, is what I like to call them. Tip: Please try to avoid discourse with these people at all costs. A migraine is sure to ensue shortly thereafter.

Wisdom isn’t earthly either. Wisdom is bestowed upon us from up above. If we humble ourselves before the Lord and ask Him for it, we shall receive it. The key here is to ‘humble ourselves’. Now don’t get it twisted, God isn’t hosting a ‘Wisdom Buffet’. It isn’t a free for all, and everyone who asks won’t receive. (Humble) So on this Wisdom Wednesday, I want you to remember first and foremost, that wisdom does not come with age. Foolishness is timeless. Secondly, wisdom comes from Him above and it enters through your heart. I know this because I’ve been wise for 9 months now. You may be saying to yourself that that isn’t long enough to enlighten someone else. Welp, that’s where you’re wrong. Wisdom isn’t an accolade, and I know what I know, because of what I know. I asked and I received. I’d take that, over textbook knowledge any day. Now that’s wisdom.

“Get Wisdom & Be Wise”

For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6

You do a good job of speaking to our generation. You tell it like it is without being so condescending. You know your audience and how to speak to them. Delivery is important. Keep blogging girl, you are doing good.
